Microfluidic long-term culture, manipulation and imaging platform for C. elegans

(Primary student researchers: Xiquan Cui, Lap Man Lee)

In this project, we aim to develop a novel microfluidic tool to confine and sustain a biological sample in an enclosed environment. Bioscientist can use such a tool to monitor and observe the development of a biological sample under the influence of different stimulations. At this stage, we can trap a single C. elegans; feed it with bacteria and special reagent; and immobilize it for high resolution DIC and fluorescent imaging.
